Description

LIGHT-GAUGE HOLLOW SECTIONS (Precision Square & Rectangular Steel Tubes)

Light-gauge hollow sections (commonly known in the market as precision tubes or thin-walled box sections) are a vital structural element in architectural metalwork, metal furniture manufacturing, and light structural framing. These products consist of high-frequency welded (HFW/ERW) steel tubes of square and rectangular cross-sections, with thin walls (typically up to 1.5–2.0 mm), produced via cold forming according to European standards (EN 10305-5 / EN 10219).

Available in two main surface finishes:

  • Cold Rolled / Pickled (CR / Decape): Featuring a completely smooth, scale-free, and clean surface, making it the ideal substrate for powder coating, precision shopfitting, and architectural furniture.

  • Galvanized (Pre-Galv): Manufactured with an automated mill-applied zinc coating to ensure dependable corrosion resistance for outdoor installations and perimeter fencing.

Key Features & Advantages

  • Low Weight & Cost Efficiency: The optimized wall thickness minimizes overall weight, significantly reducing raw material and transportation costs while easing on-site handling.

  • Superior Weldability & Workability: Excellent forming, punching, and cutting properties, facilitating clean and rapid welding (MIG/TIG) without requiring preheating.

  • High-Grade Surface Finish (CR): The absence of mill scale enables direct prep work, priming, and flawless liquid or electrostatic powder coating finishes.

  • Corrosion Protection (Galvanized): Ready for exterior architectural use and weathering conditions without immediate post-fabrication surface treatment.

  • Tight Dimensional Tolerances: Uniform corner radii, straightness, and thickness consistency strictly compliant with international engineering standards.

Typical Applications

  • Railings & Perimeter Enclosures: Balcony railings, architectural gates, fences, and ornamental grilles.

  • Frames & General Ironwork: Secondary framing for doors, window sub-frames, rolling shutters, louvers, and sliding gates.

  • Metal Furniture & Interior Fixtures: Desks, tables, modern industrial shelving, retail display racks, and interior design structures.

  • Light Framing & Canopies: Supporting framework for carports, pergolas, greenhouse structures, and suspended ceiling grid supports.
